The village of Závod is located in the central part of the Borská lowland and the area is formed mainly by Young Tertiary clays and sands. This part of Záhorie has long been thought to have been uninhabited or settled only sporadically in the earliest times. The first discovery on the territory of the Plant came in 1888. An ashtray tomb from the Late Roman period was found, specifically from the second half of the 2nd century and the beginning of the 3rd century AD The oldest traces of settlement so far come from the end of the Stone Age, Eneolithic, already relatively continuous settlement.
