The picturesque village of Budmerice is located in the district of Pezinok in the valley of the river Gidra on the edge of the fertile Trnava hills, protected from the west by the Little Carpathians. It belongs to the wine region of the Small Carpathian region and the Červený Kameň microregion. The restored historical St. Jacob's Pilgrimage Route in Slovakia passes through it.
The first written mention of Budmericie dates back to 1296. Centuries passed marked by development and suffering, serf work on the estates and vast ponds of the Červenokamenské manor, to which the village belonged since the 16th century. In that period, the inhabitants suffered from raids by the Crimean Tatars and Turkish troops, were plagued by natural disasters and epidemics.
