The village of Vinosady lies at the foot of the Little Carpathians between the famous wine-growing towns of Pezinok and Modra. It was established by merging two municipalities of Veľký and Malé Třňa with effect from 1 July 1964. The municipality belongs to the Bratislava higher territorial unit and to the district of Pezinok.

History

The vineyards were known in the past as the Great and Small Thorns. The first historical report on the settlement of municipalities dates from 1208. The municipalities were serf villages of the Bratislava Chapter. Malé Tŕnie and Veľké Tŕnie merged only in 1964 and the common village of Vinosady was established. Today, the village bears a nice name due to the ancient tradition of viticulture and winemaking.

The village of Vinosady was established on February 1, 1964 by merging two villages: Veľký Třňa and Malé Třňa. The village gave itself a nice name due to the ancient tradition of viticulture and winemaking. It is located between the wine-growing towns of Pezinok and Modra. The total population is 1,207 people.
Total area cat. already. Small and Large Thorns is 5,154,602 m2 of which agricultural land is 3,738,271 m2, non-agricultural land is 1,416,331 m2, forest land is 821,742 m2, water area 52,480 m2, built-up area and courtyard 397,064 m2, other area 145,045 m2.

It consists of two cadastral areas: the Great Thorn called "large", but the area is smaller than
Small Thorns called "small", but flat larger.
However, with the settlement in the cadastral areas of this village it was more complicated. The first historical report about the village is from 1208. The Pezinka district document from that year states that Pezinok (Bozen) is also adjacent to the village of Turdun, later also referred to as Turduna.

However, the village of Turdun existed long before 1208. Archaeologists discovered the remains of a well from the 9th century, which was probably excavated by the Slavs and also the entire Great Moravian settlement.
The village probably also survived the Tatar disaster in the years 1241 - 1291, because in 1256 it is again listed as a neighbor of Pezinok.
In the years 1256-1291, the village (Turna) was owned by Peter Čukár and then by his son Ján. In 1291, Ján Čukár donated his village to the Turna Bratislava Chapter.
It is clear from the documents that at that time part of the territory of Turne was also owned by the counts of Pezinok and Svätý Jur. One part belonging to the counts is already mentioned in 1292 as Minor Turne (Little Thorns).

It is obvious that the word Tutne (in Latin documents) is Slovak Tŕnie. After all, in the 13th century, after the Tartar invasion, the village was colonized by the Germans, and they made their name known as Terling or Tirling. And as was common in this region, according to the Germans, the Slovaks named their village Trlinok, namely Malý Trlinok, until the original Trlinok got a new name. The Bratislava Chapter, to which the childless Ján Čukár donated his village in 1291, renamed Turnu - Třňa to Čukárd, ie the village of Čukárova. The Germans also adapted this name to their language. The place of Čukárd was called Schukisdorf (Šukisdorf) or Schukersdorf, and to make it easier, they later called the village Kutzesdorf -Kutzisdorf by exchanging voices. And so the Slovaks adopted this last form of the name of the village - Kučišdorf.

Here, at the end of the 13th century, two villages developed in the one district: Kučišdorf and Malé Tŕnie. The villages had two landowners, but the people lived in unison. They were connected not only by the proximity of villages, but also by the same type of farming. They were wine-growing villages. Kučišdorf had no siatin at all. Municipal administration did not develop in the villages until the end of the 16th century and especially in the 17th century. It was used in German villages until the 18th century, then in Slovak.

And what connected both villages with Pezinok. Especially markets and fairs from the 13th century Trlinok had a common landowner with Pezinok until the 17th century. Perhaps there has been a rectory in Kučišdorf since the 14th century. In the 16th century, during the Reformation, Kučišdorf became the Modry film, but from 1759 it belonged to Pezinok. At that time, the unions of both municipalities were strengthened. After the abolition of the District Notary in Cajle in 1925, the villages of Kučišdorf and Trlinok fell again to Modra, but from 1 July 1931 Kučišdorf returned to the notary in Pezinok.

The inhabitants chose a vineyard motif as their general symbols - seals.
The circle of the Kučišdorf seal reads: S. Schukisdorf 1627. This means the seal (Sigillum) of Kučišdorf from 1627.
In the circle of the seal of the Little Thorn we read: Sigillum Communitatis Terlingensis, ie the Seal of the Village of Terling. The text on the seal clearly indicates that the administration of the village at the beginning of the 17th century was German.

The coats of arms of individual municipalities, the color of which is unknown, were also created from the mentioned general seals. The author of the sketches of the historical coats of arms of the villages of Veľký and Malý Tŕňa is the art historian Oliver Solga from Pezinok. It is assumed that such coats of arms had municipalities as independent. Their convergence in the name as well as in the form did not occur until 1948, when the nomenclature commission of the Ministry of the Interior renamed the name Kočišdorf to Veľké Tŕnie and the name Trlinka to Malé Tŕnie. In the united village of Vinosady, one coat of arms was created and assigned in 1998 by the Hieraldic Society, which continues to this day.
