This Roman Catholic Church of the Rosary of the Virgin Mary from the 13th century has been preserved in the village to this day. In 1942, during the occupation, the village merged with the village of Malý Šúr and merged under the common name Hasvár. In 1948, the village was named Kostolná pri Dunaji, at that time it had 461 inhabitants, mostly of Hungarian nationality (71% Hungarians and 21% Slovaks). The Oasis of the Siberian Tiger, which is located in the immediate vicinity of the village, enjoys great attention in the village.
In the village of Kostolná pri Dunaji there is a unique archeological site, which includes traces of settlement from the Eneolithic, a cultural settlement with fluted ceramics, skeletal graves from the Bronze Age, glowing graves of the Middle Danube mound culture from the Middle Bronze Age and Germanic burial grounds from Roman times. The Germanic burial ground, now preserved and covered with earth, is located from the hiding place approx. 80 m west.
