The beginnings of Valaská are connected with two documents. The first of them was published by the Hungarian king Ľudovít I. in 1361, but the origin of the village dates back to 1470. The name Valaská has been found in various combinations in written sources since the beginning of the 16th century. In 1528 as Olahfalva, in 1535 as Walachos Dorf and later in 1563 and 1565 as Valachorum villa, Wallachisches Dorf. Since the beginning of the 17th century, historical sources have known only one name, Valaská. The oldest part of the village is the development between Tatranská street and Na Studničke street, leading to the Teplice spring, where there is also a tajch with a former mill drive. Today it is an attractive place to relax. You can gain new strength by looking at the swans and their young, which the inhabitants come to feed here. This part was called the Village. There was a rectory, a mill and old school buildings. The original farmsteads form a cluster of houses without an obvious street network. The village lives a cultural, social and sports life. The most important cultural event is the Festival of Wind Music, which has been held in the village of Valaská since 1971. A great contribution in the field of culture is the operation of a basic art school, which prepares various concerts, theaters and musicals for the village. Throughout the year, the municipality organizes various smaller events in cooperation with other organizations in the municipality. From the social ones it is a competition in baking "harule", rafting Hron on non-traditional vessels, attention is paid to traditions, customs, customs and food of the village as well as the whole region. That is also why Valaská is considered a village that draws on the tradition of its ancestors and at the same time does not lag behind modern times.
