The village of Babie lies in the southern part of the Low Beskydy Mountains at an altitude of about 215 m. It is assumed that the settlement existed before the 11th century and at the beginning of the 14th century new inhabitants with šoltýs settled here.

The first written evidence of the village and church dates from 1332. It was a property part of the Chmeľov estate. In r. In 1427, about 40 serf households farmed here. In r. 1600 had a settlement of about 15 serf houses, ev. church and parish.
In r. From 1715 to 1720, 11 to 10 serf households gradually farmed here, in In 1828 there were 32 houses and 237 inhabitants, in 1900 had 152 inhabitants, in 1970 271 inhabitants. Ev. and the church dates from the early 14th century. At present, the village has 242 inhabitants and an area of 7 square kilometers.
