The village of Veľká Dolina is located 17 kilometers southwest of the district and regional town of Nitra. It lies in the southern part of the Nitra hills at an altitude of 120 to 151 meters above sea level. The Veľkodolin area is bordered by the Mojmírovský, Svätoplukovský, Poľnokesov and Trnovec districts.
