A picturesque mountain village at an altitude of 666 m, set in the beautiful nature of the northern slopes of the majestic Poľana.
Until 1948, the village was called Šajba. Although it was later renamed Strelníky, for most of the 800 inhabitants, many people from the immediate and wider area remained Šajba. The origin and development of the village is closely connected with the mining activity in Ľubietová. The shooters, as a serf village, provided the defense of the then mining town of Ľubietová. Later, its inhabitants were engaged in agriculture and livestock. Local sheep farming and mountain farming have a rich tradition in particular. Folk customs, dances and songs are enlivened and presented by a folklore group. In cooperation with the municipality, she also set up a room of folk traditions. The recreational and tourist possibilities of the village include especially a summer swimming pool with two pools. The location of the village allows hiking and biking trips to the northern part of the Poľana Mountains. In the immediate vicinity of the village there are monuments associated with mining and metallurgy in Ľubietová.
