The general chronicle of Horné Pršany is less than a hundred years old, but a village called Persen is mentioned as early as 1407.
The village lies in the embrace of forests at the foot of the Kremnica Mountains. Visitors to the village can sincerely envy the locals with a view of Banská Bystrica and the surrounding area from the lookout tower located on the Lažtek hill. Near the village there is a unique cave with walls filled with colorful varieties of quartz called Kremenie, which is a natural monument.
