In the early Middle Ages, two villages developed in the territory of Slovenská Nová Ves: Krtvelíš and a little younger Slovenská Nová Ves. We meet the name Krtvelíš for the first time in documents in 1243. In a deed of gift issued by the Hungarian King Bel IV. the boundaries of Zelenča are described. Slovenská Nová Ves is mentioned for the first time in a document dating back to 1245, but this document was probably forged at the beginning of the 15th century. The first verified written mention of the younger part of our village dates back to the end of the 14th century. In the first half of the 16th century, the local area was ravaged by the Turks. Slovenská Nová Ves and Krtvelíš were in the hands of several owners, who often changed. In 1553, the SNV belonged to the Trnava Poor Clares and the Foldešov family. Later, parts of both villages fell into the hands of the Baťánis and relatives of the Peréni and Andráši family. From the 16th century, Krtvelíš belonged to the Červený Kameň estate, which was owned by an important aristocratic Pálfi family. In the 18th century, the owners of Slovenská Nová Ves were the Farkašovci - a peasant family originally from Pustý Úľany. In 1773, František Ziči acquired property in Voderady and the manor house from his relative. He became the founder of the so-called water branch of the Zičiov family. He gradually increased his ownership and, thanks to his family ties with the Farkašovci family, at the turn of the 18th - 19th century he became a landowner in Slovenská Nová Ves and in Krtveliš. After landing in 1857, the two villages merged under one name, Slovenská Nová Ves.
Until 1918, the Hungarian name was officially used - Tót Ujfalu, at the beginning of the 20th century even more Hungarianized in Vedrodoujfalu.
