Today, Bošany, belonging to the Partizánske district and located on the right bank of Nitra in the central part of the Nitra loess hills, has four thousand inhabitants. Among the dominants of the village is a large manor house Bossányi, which stands on the square opposite the municipal office and where the family had its original seat. The second dominant feature of the village is the Roman Catholic Church of St. Martin, a bishop who is first mentioned in 1332. The third dominant feature of the village is the Baroque-Classicist mansion from 1776. The life of the village has changed since 1857 with the establishment of a tannery. At that time, the Austrian businessman and tanner Adolf Schmitt, who liked the village and founded another of his leather processing factories, came here. He was approached by the mill area, plenty of water and forests, which provided the bark needed to make mordant. The quality of the products produced here is also evidenced by 19 preserved medals from international exhibitions.
