Archaeological finds prove that Borovce is one of the oldest settlements in Slovakia. They were inhabited in the older phase of the Late Stone Age, in the Bronze Age, Roman-Barbarian and Slavic times, from which comes the cremation burial ground from 7.-8. century. Here the remains of the burned dead were buried in the urns.

The village is first mentioned in the patrol of the Šterús district in 1262 as Borey. Later in 1263 as Bory, r. 1773 as Borovce, Hungarian Vágbory, German Borowitz.

Until 1388 it was a royal property, then King Sigismund donated it to Duke Stibor of Stiborice, who was based in Beckov. They belonged to the Stibor family until 1430. In the 16th century they became a peasant village, they belonged to various nobles. In the portal census from In 1536, the Bory family, the Thewrew family and Andrej Ruska are mentioned. Canonical visitation from 1560 lists the owners Pavel, Ľudovít and Katarína Bora and Ján Redneka. Later, the Očkay, Vietoris, Bosányi and others landed. After 1900, the landowners were replaced by the Viennese baron, the landowner Springer, who owned most of the land. In his master, he employed poor people from Boroviec and seasonal workers from northern Slovakia.

After the invasion of the Turks in 1599, the whole village was reduced to ashes. In 1600, only four houses are mentioned in Borovce, the others burned down. In r. In 1831, a cholera epidemic broke out in the village. The registries list more than a hundred dead in the parish. The following year, 24 children died of a smallpox epidemic.

Wars and diseases also affected the population. In 1787 there lived 589 inhabitants, r. 1828 - 740, r. 1869 - 638, r. 1900 - 755, r. 1940 - 935, r. 1970 - 1063, the year 1991 recorded a large decrease - 869 inhabitants.

Like other villages, Borovce had its own seal, the typology of which has been preserved to this day. It has a diameter of 38 mm. In the middle is the image of St. Laurel with a skewer in the right hand and a palm branch in the left hand. There are flowers on both sides of the figure. The text contains the text: "+ SIGILIUM + PAGI + BORI + YES + 1719 + S + LAURENTIUS."

Archaeological research has been carried out in Borovce since 1986, which, among other things, is interested in the beginnings of Christianity in the village. Dozens of graves from the 9th - 11th centuries have been uncovered. They date from the Christian period, so they lack the food gifts common to pagan ancestors. Coins issued by the first Hungarian rulers appear in the tombs from the 11th - 12th centuries. You can see signs here - Christian symbols: cross, isosceles triangle and others. With the beginning of Christianity, the way of burial was gradually changed. There was also a unique Slovak and unique jewel in Central Europe - "a bronze hollow box decorated on one side with filigree. It is probably a kaptorga (box for the remains of saints). It comes from a simple tomb and can be associated with the beginnings of Christianization in our territory."

An inconspicuous village near Piešťany hides one of the most important archeological sites in Slovakia. The settlement of the village took place in the Neolithic. Several settlements from this period have been discovered, but the greatest treasure is the large Slavic cremation burial ground from the 7th to 8th centuries. The tombs have given many rarities, including a unique piece of jewelry in Europe - a bronze box for the remains of saints, which can be associated with the beginning of Christianization. In the future, the village plans to establish a small museum, where the exhibits excavated during two decades of archaeological research would find a place. However, pine trees live not only from history, but currently mainly through a diverse cultural and social life. Every year, several events take place in the village - carnival, the construction of a "May" associated with a goulash cooking competition, the Katarín Pork Feast, Mother's Day and Children's Day celebrations, Christmas markets and a masquerade ball. Borovce provide its inhabitants with a peaceful rural life near the city.
