The Lip family was founded in 1921 by colonists from several parts of Slovakia, especially from the vicinity of Bánovce nad Bebravou, Topolčian, Trenčín and from eastern Slovakia. To this day, the population of Slovak nationality predominates here, which is a rarity in the Komárno district. Thanks to the exceptionally fertile soil, the original inhabitants devoted themselves to agriculture. The village does not have its typical costume, but the people of Lipovice respect the legacy and traditions of their ancestors. Linden is perfect for rest and recreation. The water areas of several drainage canals are suitable for fishing and boating, the surrounding nature attracts hiking and cycling. The village is part of the protected bird area Ostrovné lúky. Visitors to Lipový are greeted by a massive maple-leaved plane tree on the driveway. Under its bushy crown, you can sit on a bench placed here by the municipality as part of a village renewal project.
