During the Turkish invasions, it was completely launched and in 1669 it is mentioned as a desolate, abandoned place.
It lies on the banks of the Váh and today offers swimming, fishing and rare natural sites. The Vrbina and Lohotský močiar nature reserves are water areas surrounded by floodplain forests with the occurrence of protected species of small game and songbirds. The protected area of Dropie is the wintering ground of the rare bearded bustard. In the Konkoly part there is a natural water reservoir with a beach and the possibility of fishing.
