Would you look in vain for islands on Považie? One is still there after all. But don't expect palm trees and golden sand. The village of Ostrov attracts with something completely different. It lies in the northern part of the Trnava loess hills. Appropriate geographical location, fertile soil and abundance of watercourses already attracted prehistoric farmers. And not only them. Traces of the Middle Ages and even the Romans also left traces here. The Baroque period is represented by the Church of St. Imrich. However, the islanders are not idle even now. They boast a refined football stadium and equipment for different sports and for different ages. They organize island feasts, a village slaughterhouse and the BOVO Olympics. It is a big sports day of three municipalities, during which they compete in many traditional and non-traditional disciplines. Culture in the village is represented by the theatrical performance "For Culture" and traditional events are organized, such as the construction of "May" or MDD. At the latest in the zero year, the Vlad Janoviak Memorial began to write its history.
