The village of Andovce

Gergely Czuczor, a poet, revolutionary, scientist and member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, was born in Andovce in 1800. Every year, on the day of the village, the natives meet here and mention not only him, but all those who made the village famous in some way.

Czuczor has a statue, a memorial plaque and a museum in the village. He was baptized in the church from 1740. However, other attractions also attract people here. Those with a sense of history, for example, the altarpiece of St. Rosalie, carved stone cross, roadside statue of John of Nepomuk, marble cross on Calvary. These are all monuments from the 19th century. But nature is also interesting. For example, the Cergát canal, built in 1889, leads through the village. It is surrounded by reeds and trees and its surroundings are a place for trips and barbecues in nature. The dam is an excellent place for cycling, you can go fishing on a nearby pond. And that the Andovians are really doing well is proven by many new homes.
