The Achilles heel of every small village is the departure of young people to larger cities. In Jatov, a village located in the Danubian lowland 27 kilometers from Nové Zámky, they solve this with flats. They built a 12-apartment house and expect that young people will be able to live in the village. And it seems that the village is thinking well, because the population is growing.

The village was part of Tvrdošovice until 1952. Today it has three separate parts and almost 800 people live here. Like any active community, Jatov has annual events, such as carnivals, a ball, the construction of "May", Christmas markets and the like. However, Jatov also organizes cycling races of national significance every year - a time trial for the SNP Cup. From the visitor's point of view, it is an interesting building in the village of Kaplnka sv. Vendelín from 1760. Today it serves as a church, but it is the only Rococo monument in the Novozámok district and one of two of its kind in the whole of Slovakia.
