The village of Veľké Lovce

In the basin, through which a winding path leads, under the majestic protection of forests lies the village of Veľké Lovce.

The first written mention of the village dates from 1236, but the area was inhabited as early as the Late Stone Age. This was confirmed by randomly discovered artifacts. In the cadastre of the village there are the ruins of the monastery of the Marian family, which belonged to the Pauline Order. They built a two-tower church here and founded a monastery. It included a library with a valuable collection of 1,184 books, which were taken to the University Library in Buda in 1786. At present, there are two churches in the village - the church of the Reformed Christian Church from 1882 and the church of the Roman Catholic Church from 1906. There are three folklore ensembles and other local non-profit organizations in the village. In the premises of the cultural house there is a local museum, which exhibits various elements from the history of the village - costumes, household tools and implements, excavations and more. In the village there is also an open-air museum - House of Folk Housing.
