The dominant feature of Žikava is the Roman Catholic Church, dedicated to St. Karol Boromejský. In the past, the inhabitants were engaged in agriculture and crayfish farming, which is also shown in the coat of arms of the village. This coat of arms was designed in 1999 by an engraver-artist, a native of the village of František Horniak. He also created a five-color engraving transcription for the stamp "Martin Benka: Land of Terchová", which was awarded the Minister's Prize. During the year, the village organizes several interesting events for its inhabitants, such as carnival, the construction of "May", Mother's Day and sports games. Children from the Kindergarten in Žikava, wind music Žikavanka and the singing group Žienky ze Žikavy take care of the good mood and varied program. The natural conditions of Žikava and its surroundings predetermine this area for recreational purposes. You can admire the bison zoo, the ruins of the Hrušov castle, the rich hunting ground or the Machulince - Topoľčianky - zubria zoo - Zlaté Moravce cycling route.
