During these visits, he often wandered the surrounding forests. They spoke of him as a drunkard they saw in the woods, where he either slept or was still writing something. He expressed this in the first verses of his poem The Cursed Virgin in Váh and the strange Janko, where he writes: "I often wander, tarnishing all God's day, looking for my knees at least with a stone on which I would lean my sore head and take a dormant at least a little." The Church of Christ the King and three roadside chapels, built in the second half of the 19th century by a local mason in the manner of brick folk houses with a triangular gable, are registered as historical monuments. The protected study area of the bison zoo, which was established in 1958, extends into the area of the village. Its mission is to contribute to the rescue of the European bison from extinction. It is currently an important tourist destination.
