In the village of Modrová, the Kňaží vrch nature reserve is located in the Hlávky locality, which is the adrenal area of the Tematínske kopce Protected Landscape Area and the Tematínske vrchy supra-regional biocentre. The protected area is a biologically and landscape-wise very valuable area with several thermophilic communities, a refuge for existentially endangered species of plants and animals, which is very diverse in this area. Tematínske vrchy National Nature Reserve is one of the most famous parts of the region. The species diversity of plants and animals ranks this area among European rarities and is therefore
also included in the network of territories with natural values of pan-European significance - EECONET. The average annual temperature is 9 ° C. Average rainfall 600 - 700 mm. Archaeological excavations of the surrounding area, local and district names place our village in the period of the oldest settlement in our area. The skeleton grave of a shrimp in the neighboring village of Modrovka proves that this area was inhabited as early as the Neolithic - in the Late Stone Age. We can conclude that the territory of our village was inhabited already in the period of the Great Moravian Empire (9th - 10th century). This is evidenced by the Slavic settlement and the Great Moravian rotunda with preserved lower masonry and a cemetery in the locality Ducové - Kostolec, which borders the area of our village. The first written collection about the village is mentioned in the "School Memories" from 1896, which state that after the great fire in 173I, when the rectory burned down with all the documents, Count Ferenc Zichy found a brick plaque in the church on which it was written in Latin:

Turris fortissima, nomen Domini, per gentem Romanum erecta, anno Domini MCLVII mense Nov. XVIII.
(In free translation: A strong tower in the name of the Lord built by the Roman people in 1157 in November 18.)
The inhabitants subsisted mainly on agriculture, carpentry and wheelwrighting, women on embroidery. Many people went to seasonal work abroad (Austria). In the First World War, 15 citizens died, during the expedition of Hungarian gendarmes to the village in November 1918, six men and one woman. The oldest historical monument of the village is the Roman Catholic Church of St. Archangel Michael - r. 1157. It belongs to the rare historical Romanesque monuments and is included in the list of architectural monuments. Services are held there daily. With the right integration, the village of Modrová is one of the southernmost municipalities in the Nové Mesto nad Váhom district, but the most advantageous connection is to the town of Piešťany. At present, the village has built a solid structure of services to citizens: a health center with an ambulance, kindergarten, post office, cultural center, library, a shop with various goods, groceries, hospitality, three car repair shops, leather goods production. In the recreational area Modrová - Lazy there is a home for the elderly. The mission of the Senior Modrová home is to provide a safe, dignified and satisfied environment for citizens who need the regular help of another natural person. We support an active attitude to life, which is based on an individual approach to clients. At present, the village has 511 inhabitants.
