The village of Dunajský Klátov is located on the northern edge of the central part of Žitný ostrov next to the state road No. 507 Dunajská Streda - Galanta at a distance of about 8 km from Dunajská Streda between the villages of Veľké Dvorníky and Jahodná. Rye Island is part of the Danubian Lowland, the village lies at an altitude of 113 - 114 m. The right-hand arm of the Little Danube flows through the village, named after the name of the village: Klátovské rameno.

The village of Dunajský Klátov is located on the northern edge of the central part of Žitný ostrov next to the state road No. 507 Dunajská Streda - Galanta at a distance of about 8 km from Dunajská Streda between the villages of Veľké Dvorníky and Jahodná. Rye Island is part of the Danubian Lowland, the village lies at an altitude of 113 - 114 m. The right-hand arm of the Little Danube flows through the village, named after the name of the village: Klátovské rameno.

The high degree of water purity, rich flora and fauna of the Klátov branch and adjacent forests and meadows are protected for their uniqueness and in In 1993, a national nature reserve of the same name was established on an area of 306 ha. Another watercourse, which significantly affects the characteristics of the village is the Klátovský canal, which collects water from the surrounding meadows and springs and which flows into the Klátovský branch in the village. On the Klátovské ramen, in front of its confluence with the Klátovský canal, there is a water mill (pictured on the header of the village's website) as the last preserved of the many water mills in the Klátovské ramen region and the entire Little Danube. The water mill was declared a national cultural and technical monument in 1982 and is managed by the Žitnoostrov Museum in Dunajská Streda. The mill itself and its immediate surroundings in In 2016, they underwent an extensive reconstruction, which was covered by EU funds. This reconstruction significantly increased the tourist attractiveness of the mill and the surrounding part of the Klátov branch.

The first written mention of the village is from 1392 where it was mentioned under the name "Thekues" (it is a Latin transcription of the Hungarian word "tőke, tőkés" in translation "klát, klátov", from which the current name of the village in Hungarian - "Dunatőkés . "). The latest chapter of the rich history of the village begins in 1990 when the village became independent again after about 30 years.

Dunajský Klátov is one of the smaller municipalities in the district of Dunajská Streda (Trnava self-governing region). The cadastre of the village has an area of 4.57 km2, population 690 (data from 2017). In the last census, more than 95% of the population declared themselves to be of Hungarian nationality. The infrastructure of the village is similar to the infrastructure of other municipalities in the region: gas, water, cable TV distribution are available, broadband internet is available, public spaces are monitored by a camera system. A kindergarten with a Hungarian language of instruction has been established in the village, and compulsory school children attend a primary school in Jahodná. In terms of postal services, the municipality belongs to the catchment area of the post office in Jahodná (postal code 93021). Of the social organizations, they deserve to mention the Voluntary Fire Brigade (founded in 1917) and the Pensioners' Club.

The oldest building in the village is the Chapel of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary built in 1927, the Roman Catholic Church was built in the 90s of the last century. In the first decade of this century, relatively intensive housing construction began in the form of rental apartments and also in the form of supplier houses, for which a new location "New Housing Estate" was established. After 2004, 60 new flats were built in the village.
Registered unemployment in the municipality is consistently below the national average. The majority of the population of the working-age village works in agriculture or in the processing of agricultural products. They are employees of companies based in the village or in the vicinity. A relatively large group of inhabitants of the village consists of tradesmen and craftsmen, a significant part of the inhabitants of the village comes to work in nearby towns.
The location of the village Dunajský Klátov provides excellent conditions for a stay in the wild, for tourism and other leisure activities and is a popular place for recreation and relaxation. The water mill together with the natural scenery of the Klátov branch is a destination for tourists and lovers of nature and the history of milling throughout the year. The village is a member of the communities "Microregion Klátovské rameno" and "MAS - Water Paradise" through which, in addition to promotion, information is also provided for visitors (cycling routes, opportunities and conditions for rafting, scuba diving, etc.). For visitors to the village and the surrounding area, there are also catering and accommodation facilities with the possibility of using other activities (sports field, equestrian center, sports hall, fishing, etc.).
