The village got its present form in 1940 by merging the settlements Nyék (Nekyje na Ostrove) and Várkony (Vrakúň), so the history of the village has two lines. Vrakúň is a very old settlement, whose traces date back to the AVAR period. The first written mention of the village is from 1015. Vrakúň was the ancestral seat of the Amadeus, who allegedly also had a castle manor here and became landowners in 1787.

In the 16th century, the village received city privileges. At the beginning of the 19th century, Tadeáš Amade had a well-known pheasant house and a farm on the spit farm, later the property was taken over by the Schmertzig family, who sold it around Matyáš Pfeifer from Ikva around 1900 - he built a distillery and a steam mill here.
