The area of the village has been inhabited since ancient times. Evidence of the oldest settlement is the Neolithic settlement. The first written mention is from 1138 in the royal charter of Adalbert II. I Willa Qusout. Later, the village belonged to local landowners, but settlers from the surrounding villages settled here. The village suffered a lot during the Turkish invasions and was looted several times. The village, registered under the name Kosúti, belonged to the e-raid of Nové Zámky, the shade of Šaľ and the sadžak of Nové Zámky. The Košúts were settled and part of it became the property of the Eszterházy family.
