Oral presentation of the people says that the village is very old and was already there when the neighboring village of Diósegu, today Sládkovičova, was not. The village had its own church, which was built in the time of the Arpads. At the time of the Turkish dominion in the former Hungary, the village suffered greatly from Turkish invasions. To defend themselves, the inhabitants left their former village, which was around the church, and moved to the place where the current village is.
