Pata is located in the northwestern part of the Galant district in the immediate vicinity of the municipalities of Šoporňa, Báb, Šintava and Hájske. The area is characterized by a very gentle hilly area with a shallow Jác valley. In the territory of today's Galanta district, the earliest evidence of human presence dates back to the Middle Stone Age (8 thousand - 6 thousand years BC). This is due to the local habitat with sandy soils near watercourses, which dries faster. Prehistoric man preferred such localities, especially if they were elevated places.
