The village of Trnovec is located in western Slovakia on the border of the Slovak part of the Dolnomoravský úval and the western part of the Myjava Uplands. From the territorial-administrative division, the village belongs to the Trnava region, Skalica district, where it has an almost central location. It is located in the immediate vicinity of the state road connecting the towns of Holíč and Senica. The village is 8 km southwest of the district, 9 km from the border with the Czech Republic. The nearest town is Holíč, less than 3 km away.

The village of Trnovec

The village is adjacent to one town (the town of Holíč) and three rural villages (the village of Prietržka, Popudinské Močidlany and Kopčany).

The village of Trnovec is spread at an altitude of 181 m, the area of the cadastral territory of the village is 5,055,684 m2 (ie 505.6 ha). Of this area, the built-up area represents approx. 35 ha. The built-up area is characterized by rural settlements. The village has 320 inhabitants, population density is 125 inhabitants per 1 km2.
