The very first mention of the village comes from 1205, later it is mentioned in 1319 as Bochfolua, in 1321 as Boch and in a document from 1328 in connection with Iobagio Strigoniesis ecclesie villa Boch. The name is probably derived from the personal name Báč. It can be assumed that the village was founded in the 12th century, but the list of villages that had the task of protecting the Hungarian borders in the 13th century is not yet mentioned. The document from 1229 mentions the village also in the form of Boch, which hides a period transcription of the name Báč. To this was added the suffix -falva (village, settlement) denoting the ownership relationship (Bács's settlement) and which was shortened over the centuries to the form of Bacsfa. The village belonged to the archbishop's seat in Vojka nad Dunajom and was the property of its nobles (predialists).
