Modrany is a village in Slovakia in the district of Komárno at an altitude of 131 m above sea level, at the southern foot of a hill in Bátorové Kosiho, in the valley of the Modriansky stream. The first written record of the village dates from 1260, but according to further research as early as 1198. King Imrich moved his falconers here, on the basis of which the village was named (Madar).
