VIRT (Komárno district) Not only Virt, but also its immediate surroundings is an important archaeological site, which has been continuously inhabited since the Eneolithic. The first written report on Virta dates back to 1256. At that time it belonged to the Baňa castle, a cup: the territory also belonged to Sephridus and the archdeacon of Komárno. It is necessary to emphasize that we know the owners of the village relatively well, not only in the initial period of its medieval development, but also in the younger historical development of Virtu.

This is a very important finding, because the development of the village itself will be possible, in the future to monitor especially in the family archives of the owners of the village. Virt developed independently until the middle of the 19th century - until it merged with Radvaňa nad Dunajom. In r. 1938-1945 belonged to Hungary.
Since 1990 is again an independent municipality. Virt belonged to the Baňa castle only until 1264. In that year, the original owner of the village of Sefrid, with the consent of the monarch, sold his part - four plows of land - in Virta to the Esztergom archbishopric, specifically to Archbishop Filip. In this context, a very interesting note in the Slovak Homeland Studies Dictionary.
In addition to the sold part sold to the archbishopric, Virta mentions the "castle part of the village", which r. In 1268 the castle fell to Komárno and Vértyovcorn (until 1598). This information is remarkable in connection with the name of the municipality. Prof. P. Zigo, who examined the motivation of the local name Virt, came to the conclusion that the name of the village is of Hungarian origin "virrast", which means "to watch", "do not sleep", or in the word "vértelek", which means top, top, shield. Prof. Zigo assumes that the name of the settlement Virt was a name, the motivation of which is the location of the village in a place that was located on the exposed air, a place of observation. An unlit note in a patriotic dictionary about the castle part is certainly not accidental. It seems that a fortress still existed here in the 13th century. However, let us focus on other, very specific historical data, about which we are most detailed in the monograph on Komárno County, which was published as part of the millennial celebrations of Hungary. The mentioned Vérty family are certainly the domestic nobility, which took its name from the name of the settlement Virt. We know about them that in 1598 they died by the sword, and so the other owners of the village became the Bély family.

This genus r. 1622 died by the sword. In the ownership of Virtu, they were followed by Juraj Csajághy and his wife Barbara Korikoly. Later, Husár sheep became the owners of the village. Imrich Husár his work r. In 1723 he gave a deposit to František Gyulay. Ten years later (1733), František Gyulay of Virt sued Nedeckovcarai. The shareholders become members of four certainly blood-related genera without further specification: N ed e. cky, P yber, Balog and Martin. At the end of the 19th century, the Pyber family and František Farkaš, who lived in a comfortable manor house, were the bigger owners in V irta. The origin of the manor dates back to 1720, at the beginning of the 19th century it was extended by reconstruction. Until the first half of the 18th century, the origin of the local church, which is dedicated to St. Trinity. ABOUT
We still know that already during Bel IV. the Germans settled here. These include the oldest specifically named owner of Virtu Sefrid (certainly named Sigfried). We keep talking about Virta as a village, in fact it was probably a settlement, which probably never grew into a medieval village with its own municipal administration and its own official agenda. The greatest expansion was recorded in the 19th century - r. In 1828 there were 29 houses and 158 inhabitants. However, it immediately merged with Radvaria nad Dunajom, which took over all the tasks of the municipal administration. Despite this statement, there is no reason today for Virt, as an independent municipality, not to own the coat of arms. Although it does not have a historical symbol, due to its more than seven-century existence, its coat of arms now belongs. Aware of the location of the village - a fertile lowland - near the Danube with excellent climatic conditions - we design a blue shield for the coat of arms of Virtu, in which a huge golden sun grows from the green arm. In this form, in our opinion, the coat of arms is characteristic of the village, and it deserves it.
