The first mention of the village dates back to 1113. The village has its own water source. The water supply system has been terminated in the whole village since 1965, the gas distribution in the whole village has been terminated since 1995. The wastewater treatment plant has been completed in the village since 2001 and the sewerage system has been operating in the whole village. The cadastre of the village is crossed by the all-Slovak bio-corridor of the Váh River, which, together with local gravel pits, can be classified as a valuable natural unit.
