Tomky is a part of the village Borský Svätý Jur in the Trnava region in the district of Senica na Záhorí.
The village is located between the villages Závod, Borský Svätý Jur, Studienka and Lakšárska Nová Ves. In the past, there were several settlements around these villages (Húšky, Trajlínky, Horné Valy, Dolné Valy and Šišuláky, of which Tomky was still the largest settlement at that time). Former settlers made a living by raising sheep, pigs, grazing cattle or cultivating manorial land. The village is 60 km away from Bratislava. The surrounding area consists mainly of pine forests. [1]
A recreational area with a campsite, a motel and a boarding house has been built in the village, [2] which is located in the Záhorie Protected Landscape Area, by the Horná and Dolná Studená voda streams. Tomky is also known as the Resocialization Center for Drug Addicts, which has been operating since 1996.
At the beginning of the village in the direction from Borský Svätý Jur is the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary (built in the nineties of the 19th century) and in the direction of the village of Závod there is the Passion of the Virgin. The Lakšár brook flows along the edge of the village.
