The first written mention of Vrbová dates back to 1113. At the end of the 14th century, it was first mentioned in written sources as a town. The liberation from tolls and thirties by Emperor Sigismund in 1437 supported his further economic development - Vrbové gradually developed into a craft and trade center in the wider area. During the Second World War, the whole town of Vrbové became a ghetto for the Jewish population from the Piešťany district.
