The first written mention of the already existing village of Koplotovce with the name Locuplot is from the Záhorská list from 1113, issued by the Hungarian king Koloman. The village of Koplotovce is situated on the left-side Váž terrace, adjacent to the western slope of the southern promontory of Považský Inovec between Hlohovec and the village of Jalšové, 12.5 km south of the world-famous spa town of Piešťany. The surface of the cadastral area consists mainly of Mesolithic rocks and river gravel, in its northern part grow thermophilic oak groves.
