Its first landowners were the Thurz family, after them from r. 1642 The Esterházy family, who remained her landowners until the abolition of serfdom. The manor house of this family was built in 1760, a few years later a reformatory for aristocratic branches was created in it, from 1763 orphanage, from 1967 special boarding school. The sights of the village are the Church of the Holy Trinity, built in 1710. In the cemetery is a cave of the Virgin of Lourdes, which is a place of pilgrimage. The manor is currently not open to the public. Next to it was a beautiful park, today only a torso has been preserved. In the area of the village on the left bank of the small Danube there is a wheel mill, built in 1893 by Ján Maticza. The mill currently belongs to the Museum of National History in Galanta and has an exposition of milling. In the village there is a new primary school and kindergarten with Hungarian as the language of instruction.
