Kopčany (Hungarian Kopcsán, German Koptschan) is a village in Slovakia, in the district of Skalica. It lies on the border with the Czech Republic by the river Morava. Not far from the village there is the Church of St. Margita, built probably in the Great Moravian period sometime in the late 9th or in the first half of the 10th century. It is one of the oldest preserved churches not only in Slovakia, but in the whole of Central Europe.
