Skalica is one of the towns with many preserved cultural monuments. Among the most important and oldest is the Romanesque rotunda dedicated to St. George. On the hill with the rotunda there are other monuments such as the remains of the city walls with the only preserved gate, the so-called the North Gate.

At the opposite end of the hill is a Jewish cemetery, which is destroyed. Opposite the rotunda is the Calvary built on the remains of the princely fortified settlement consecrated by Archbishop A. Rudnay in 1823. On the acropolis stands a stone cross with statues of St. Mary and St. John. There are chapels with the Stations of the Cross around the acropolis. Not far from the Calvary are the Catholic and Evangelical cemeteries, where important personalities of the city such as Daniel G. Lichard, Dr. Pavol Blaho and opera singer Janko Blaho are buried. One of the most famous technical monuments is the mill of the Pilárik brothers with very well-preserved equipment.
