The village of Letničie is located in the northern part of Záhorie in the Skalica district. It borders the villages of Petrova Ves and Štefanov. The name of the village is derived from the word Pentecost - green vegetation, feed for sheep prepared in the form of hens. The village is first mentioned in 1532 as Letnyche. Since 1927, the name of the village is Letničie.

An important building in the village is the Baroque church of St. John the Baptist. The first information about the church dates from 1822. However, it is assumed that the building is older. In the fields and in the village there are God's torments and Pieta, built in honor of a soldier who fell in the First World War. Next to the church is a monument to the heroes who fell in the SNP. On the building of the municipal office there is a memorial plaque of Anton Vaculka killed in the village Háj district Turčianske Teplice and a memorial plaque of the liberation of the village. All cultural events take place on the local playground or in the culture house. These are various celebrations, anniversaries, meetings with pensioners, competitions, exhibitions, academies, etc. Most cultural programs are prepared by primary school students with the Letničie Kindergarten.
