The village is first mentioned in 1256 under the name Sag, in 1808 Ssahy, 1920 Šág and from 1948 Sasinkovo. Under the name Sag as a village of royal fishermen in 1412 it belonged to the Hlohovec estate. Later by several aristocratic families, e.g. Šándorovcom, Keglevichovcom, Appelovcom… In 1715 the village had 20 subjects and 17 jail households. In 1751 - 94 families, in 1787 - 137 houses and 670 inhabitants, in 1828 77 houses and 539 inhabitants. They were mainly engaged in agriculture, mostly viticulture.
In the village there are a Roman Catholic church and an evenjelic church. Roman Catholic Church, dedicated to St. Katarína was built in 1802. The Evangelical Church was built in 1935. In the village there is an Art Nouveau mansion with neo-baroque elements, rebuilt in the early 20th century on an older core. It is a two-storey rectangular building with a mansard roof.
