Energy on wheels - Košice

This year offers several opportunities for involvement:

• The first option is to complete a group ride of "Slide Energy on Wheels" before the presentation of the teams and in front of the prologue in Košice, September 15, 2021 at 1 p.m.
• The second option is the individual crossing of one of the tracks around the stage places of the 65th year of the International Cycling Race Around Slovakia, which will be offered by the GoSlovakia application in the Energy on Wheels section, from 15.9. during the whole next week after the end of the race, ie until 26.9.2021.

Everyone who joins will be automatically entered into a draw for the bike and other great prizes.

What do you need to do to be included in the draw? It's quite simple:

Step 1: REGISTRATION

There are two ways to register:

a) directly at the partner stand GoSlovakia, in the cities of starts and finishes of the Around Slovakia race (the stand will operate in the given cities only on the day of the Around Slovakia race, at the starts in Spišské Podhradie and Trenčianske Teplice you can register at the Around Slovakia race stand). When you register, you can collect points in an interactive game with competition questions. Details of the registration for Košice Slide Energy are below.

b) or from 15.9. Download the GoSlovakia application and register yourself.

Step 2: TRACK COMPLETION

complete the organized ride "Slide Energy on Wheels" with the team of Slides in front of the prologue on September 15, 2021 in Košice. Registration will take place from 11:30 am at the Slide stand on Hlavná street in Košice. We start at 13:00. With a confirmation of crossing the track, you will then be registered at the GoSlovakia stand in the Energy on Wheels system, which will take you to the overall draw.

You have a choice of one of the tracks around the stage cities of the 65th International Cycling Race Around Slovakia, which will be offered by the GoSlovakia application in the Energy on Wheels section. There are several options to choose from (short routes for families with children, longer routes according to your strength). The condition is to come to the beginning, take a picture of the introductory QR code in the application, cross the track and then take a photo of the QR code at the finish line to confirm. The application will then place you in the draw.

Cycling is not only a healthy sport, but also an ecological mode of transport. The Energy on Wheels event takes place during the European Mobility Week, in which the stage cities of the Around Slovakia race are also involved. By participating in Energy on Wheels, you will contribute your mileage to the symbolic orbit of the Earth.

For the third year in a row, the introduction of Energy on Wheels will also be connected with the cycling trip of the DIAPOZITÍVC team, which consists of leading Slovak diabetologists, members of patient organizations, diabetics or members of the general public. Accompanying activities in Košice will also be dedicated to "diabetes," life with it and prevention. This year is especially important for diabetics, as we commemorate one important anniversary - it will be 100 years since the discovery of insulin, one of the most important medical discoveries ever.

Exercise is arguably the best non-pharmacological treatment for diabetics - and doctors lead by example. The Slide Energy route is also completed by doc. MUDr. Zbynek Schroner, PhD. - chief expert of the Ministry of Health for diabetology, doc., MUDr. Emil Martinka, PhD. from the Ľubochnian workplace and the primary MUDr. Lubomir Barak, CSc. from Bratislava.

In this context, the presence of Team Novo Nordisk - a team composed exclusively of riders - diabetics - is also an interesting connection with the "big" races around Slovakia. With the slogan "We are DiaPositives. We can do everything when we have diabetes under control, ”they prove that diabetes does not have to be an obstacle to professionalization in sport.

Procedure for starting the event:

1. Download the GoSlovakia app for Google Android / Apple iOS

2. After launching the GoSlovakia app, click on the ACCOUNT icon at the bottom right and log in . If you are an existing user and see your name, skip this step.

3. Return via the HOME icon and select the ENERGY ON WHEELS event directly on the home screen. You will see all information about the event and you can in the period from 15.9. to 26.9. connect via SELECT YOUR CYCLE ROUTE .

4. Choose from the menu of individual routes in selected in the cities through which the cycling event Around Slovakia passes. Each route contains a detailed description and a map.

5. To start, it is necessary to be close to the point marked POI. This POI is a teardrop-shaped GoSlovakia table with a QR code (graphical representation of the table). In the app, click on START ROUTES - SCAN POI and you will see a map with the route.

6. On the map, use the SCAN START POI button to scan the QR code on the POI and start. The app will start displaying your location on the route. Note: You can minimize the application while driving, but you cannot close it completely!

7. In the destination, it is necessary to scan the QR code again using the SCAN DESTINATION POI button on the bottom right of the map.

8. After the end of the route, the app will confirm the completion of the route. If you want to complete the next route, proceed in the same way as in point no.4

Results: you can follow all the routes traveled on the GoSlovakia.sk website under the Energia na kolesách event. Statistics on individual sections are clearly displayed. In addition, if you log in (top right), your accounts will be linked, you will see your exact rider position within the event and you can also play a knowledge game.

Troubleshooting:

• Always check your smartphone to see if you have mobile data and GPS enabled.
• Not all icons are displayed in the GoSlovakia app - you do not have an updated application. Scan the QR code in point 1 and update the GoSlovakia application.
• I can't find the POI table - in the detail of the route you can see the exact position on the map with the possibility of zooming, as well as the name of the object where the POI is located.
• Note: You can minimize the application while driving, but you cannot close it completely!
