The village of Šintava lies on a built-up area on the left bank of the Váh River, in the northern part of the Galanta district, in the higher territorial unit (VÚC) of Trnava. It borders the cadastral borders with the town of Sereď and the villages of Vinohrady nad Váhom, Pusté Sady, Pata, Šoporňa, Váhovce and Dolná Streda. The cadastral area has an area of 1279 ha.
