The museum also builds, manages and processes a numismatic collection and collections documenting the history and ethnocultural development of Slovaks. In the form of exhibitions, it also presents the rich history of Slovakia abroad. The Historical Museum manages a rich collection of collection items. The seat of the Historical Museum is Bratislava Castle.
