It is probably a statue built by Ján Novák from the Smolenice estate, although it is mentioned in the literature in one place that it stood outside the town. For his statue of the Virgin Mary, Ján Novák laid down a base of 150 gold pieces, which were leased to Ján Bardiovský. Of the interest, 3 gold coins were to be used for oil in a lamp which they lit at the statue every Saturday and 6 gold coins were intended for the inhabitants of the poorhouse, obliged to pray at the statue every Saturday. In 1856, the base of the statue was divided and borrowed in smaller amounts.
