Opojský football has been a tradition since 1928. At that time, it was played on the former Sládkovičovský (Diosegský) sugar factory land (former cooperative garden - today's cultural center with adjacent family houses).
In 1953, the construction of a new playground at the lower end of the village began.
In 1981, the TJ sports field was repaired.
After 1992, renovations of the dressing rooms, lighting and irrigation of the field, screen barriers and others were carried out.
