Mahid Winery has a history of more than a decade and great enthusiasm for the founders: three friends from one street, united by a love of wine.
Our story began to be written in a small club cellar in 2001 in Veľká Mača. We started with a few demijohns and had more enthusiasm than knowledge, but the first year went beyond our expectations.
We were hungry for experience and information. We were lucky that we were taken up by more experienced colleagues and our love of good wine drove us a quick step forward. After only a few years, we switched to controlled fermentation and increased production to thousands of liters. We follow simple principles: we select the best local grapes and process them honestly.
The year 2014 was a turning point for us, when we said to ourselves that we can no longer keep such a good wine to ourselves and we decided to open a serious winery. We had our consultants, we invested in the most modern technologies and we increased production tenfold. And we enjoy it more and more. We learn a lot, we go to inspire the world, we are helped by leaders in the field, such as oenologist Dávid Cíferský.
We unlock everything ourselves, working with grapes is hard work, but we are pleased with the results: more and more bottles have been sold and, for example, we have also gotten the headline of the prestigious wine magazine Vinotéka.
