Statue of St. Vendelína has been guarding our village since 1828. It stands at the lower end of the village near Motoreste Eso. Statue of St. Vendelín, the protector of cattle and domestic animals, was not missing in almost any village in the past. In 1997, the statue was destroyed in a car accident. The village had the statue repaired, the surroundings were modified and on St. Vendelín was consecrated again. In 2018, the village ensured the restoration of the statue of St. Vendelína.

Sv. Vendelin was traditionally the son of a King of Scotland. Being religious, his father became very angry with him and sent him to graze sheep. At the age of about 20, he went on a pilgrimage to Rome with several companions. It is not certain whether he arrived there, it is possible that he arrived only after the German Trier or on the way back from Rome he stopped in Trier. There he found a group of people who lived together in a monastic way of life. He was thrilled and stayed between them. He served as a shepherd of cattle. In addition, he prayed a lot. He later received his own cell at the monastery, and in time the monks elected him his abbot, although he was not even a priest. He enjoys great respect mainly in Germany. He was one of fourteen helpers in need.
