The column is square and recessed on the sides, terminated at the top by a roof. Its height is three meters. It was originally located in another place, but in 1960 it was moved to the city park. Public punishments were carried out by tying convicts to prison. Penalties were imposed for public outrage, theft, defamation, harm, and the like. They were most often held on Sundays, holidays or fairs. The perpetrators were tried by the City Council, chaired by the mayor. Pranier is protected as an important monument by the Slovak Monuments Institute. For example, we present the verdict of the municipal court in the literal wording:
