PhMr. Aurel Viliam Scherfel (* April 23, 1835 Great - † April 23, 1895 Great) Graduate of pharmacy at the University of Vienna, pharmacist, botanist, scientist, humanist. He is one of the most important personalities who lived and worked in the territory of the Great. With his rich and active life, he indelibly enriched life not only in the Great, but also in the wide Tatra region. He was actively involved in the dissemination of education, research and the development of cultural and social life not only in Veľká, where he lived, but also in Hungary.

In the house where he lived and worked, there is an exhibition documenting his life, scientific work and extensive civic activity. The house also functions as a gallery, which organizes exhibitions of various kinds.
