The elderly remember visiting the house, the young they learn because they do not know many objects from the last century at all.
Life in Vlčkovce in the past is illustrated by a museum exposition, which was opened in the original house of a small farmer from 1925. It also includes a memorial room of an important native, sculptor Fraň Štefunek.
The house itself, in which the historical exhibits found a place, is also worth noting. It is one of the last houses in the village, where time stood still. There was never a bathroom, a flush toilet and water only in a well in the yard. The yard includes at least a 120-year-old mulberry tree.
"The country house will serve for the older ones to remember how it was in the past, and for the younger ones to know that this is how people used to live," said the mayor of Vlčkoviec in the Trnava district Ivan Dobrovodský, who initiated the establishment of the house with memories of the past. .
Its front room is dedicated to the national artist Fraň Štefunek, furnished with original furniture and other items from his study. Several of his sculptures also found a place here. This room also includes an exhibition of Wolf costumes and embroidery.
This is followed by a "gánek" with ceramics, a bedroom with a spinning wheel or sewing machine, a kitchen with a still functional oven and kitchen equipment, as if the housekeeper had just run away for a while, behind the kitchen is a chamber and a workshop with tools needed by the landlord for his work.
The narrow but long house ends with a barn with a cart and agricultural machinery, outside under the shelter there is also a threshing machine, a mower and other equipment that belonged to the common equipment of a farmer in the village. When looking at the exhibits, the older ones mention, the young people tend to ask because they do not know many of the exhibited objects at all.
They bought the house and saved it
The village of Vlčkovce bought one of the oldest houses in the village about two years ago, and has been working to save it ever since. It was in a desolate state, with disturbed statics and roof structure. According to the mayor of Dobrovodský, most of the work was financed from the general budget, partly from the Ministry of Finance and from donors who liked the idea of establishing a municipal museum.
During the first weekend after the opening, about a thousand inhabitants of the village, but also natives from various parts of Slovakia, came to see the past of Farkašín, later Vlčkoviec. Mayor Ivan Dobrovodský wants to make the Country House accessible especially to children from schools in the area, because such a collection of museum pieces, which was managed to be collected in Vlčkovce near Trnava, is not exhibited anywhere in the surrounding villages.
The village of Vlčkovce is located only a few kilometers from Trnava, next to the R1 expressway. It was known as Farkašín for centuries, until in 1948 it was named Vlčkovce.
