History
The original church was built around the end of the 9th century. Apparently it stood in the wider area of the Mikulčice fortified settlement, to the main gate of which the western facade of the church is oriented. The building also survived the demise of this center of Great Moravia and around the middle of the 13th century and later in the 16th and 17th centuries it was modified. During this period, the settlement around the church, which remained abandoned in the marshy landscape, definitely disappeared, but it still served the believers at least as a chapel. In 2008, the church and the adjacent area were declared
